A warm, shareable starter for a holiday gathering. Set it out with crackers and sliced apple, and let everyone help themselves.
Your little shopping list
- One 8-ounce wheel of brie
- ⅓ cup prepared cranberry sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts, optional
- Fresh rosemary, crackers, and apple slices to serve
Bring it together
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Place the brie in a small, parchment-lined ovenproof dish.
- Bake for about 12–15 minutes, checking until the center feels soft when gently pressed.
- Spoon over the cranberry sauce. Add optional walnuts and a little rosemary.
- Let it stand briefly, then serve warm with crackers and apple slices.
Make it yours
Use a sauce you already enjoy. A small dish and a few fresh sprigs can make the presentation feel special without an elaborate setup.
Keep the serving simple
Use an ovenproof dish that leaves a little space around the cheese, and put it on a heat-safe trivet before bringing it to the table. Let guests spoon or spread the softened cheese onto crackers rather than trying to slice it neatly.
Leave out the walnuts if you do not need them. Check all packaging for your guests’ dietary requirements; changing one topping does not make the whole dish suitable for every allergy. Assemble the crackers and apple while the cheese warms, then serve promptly.
